To Love The Bee Gees - A Tribute to the Brothers Gibb is a 2015 release that I designed and illustrated the album artwork and poster insert for this USA compilation release featuring Mary Margaret O'Hara, Isobel Cambpell (Belle & Sebastian), Emitt Rhodes, Dylan Gardner, Brazzaville, The Boy Joys, SheLoom, Martin Carr, Low Leaf, Kinky, Myron & E, The Silver Seas, Jess Delgado and more. It also includes an essay written by David Wild.
DVD special edition box designs that I created for Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes and Hanna Barbara.
I designed this album art, creating a visual fantasy world which depicts the story told within the song lyrics. The band is Alpha Lighting System, a young Mexico City based progressive rock trio. The album is entitled, Walking On An Earlthlike Planet. It was great fun to work on interpreting the music and my clients were more than pleased.
This is Dave Kerzner's New World release which came in various formats. I designed the album artwork and booklets for the standard and deluxe editions, the bonus disk of outtakes and the booklet for the box set. Each page features digital artwork tailored to the individual songs. I also created several music videos based on these visual interpretations for promotion and live concert projections.
The first track, Stranded which I created a lyric video for and co-directed and edited the official video was nominated for Best Rock Anthem by Prog Magazine's Progressive Music Awards in England and also received a Hamilton Music Award nomination for Best Album Art in Canada.
Wanderlust Wishing Well is my second full length solo album which is on vinyl and CD. Shown here is the vinyl edition with printed inner sleeve and a translucent two tone blue vinyl. I designed and illustrated the artwork except the painting of me I commissioned Antonella Sigismondi to create. I worked with a few photographers as well to accomplish the images of me underwater, with wolves, a fox, a skunk, and my dog. For the limited edition, I designed wishing coins as shown.
Carlin - Cabana is a 2015 single release that I designed for a Canadian hiphop/RnB artist.
I designed the album art for my 2012 debut independent solo album release entitled, Tapping Trees In A Trinket Box Of Treasure. Also shown is the limited edition series I created featuring hand sewn sleeve with bunting flag detailing and acrylic on balsa wood artwork.
The artwork collectively tells a story that goes like this: On the cover, I am curtsying and the back cover is who and what I am curtsying to. There are buds growing from roses that are breaking off from the ground and floating upwards into the sky to outer space. I perform that evening to the creature guests who are present including zebras, bongos, nyalas, kudu, quetzal, fireflies and my pups. As I perform from within the wagon on a tiny stage that earlier you can see off in the distance, the song travels through space along with the floating flowers and trees. The disk is a slice of tree, showing one that time does play history, the present and future through music.
This album won a Hamilton Music Award for Best Album Art and the music received two nominations from the Independent Music Awards for Most Eclectic Song and Hamilton Music Awards for Best Adult Alternative.
My Heart Has Been Broken By One Unfit To Name is a single two track lathe cut release for music I was commissioned to create for a Lynchian inspired indie film made in the UK. The screenwriter wrote the lyrics for me to adapt to music. To document the music, I released this single independently on a very limited edition lathe cut and designed the artwork as shown. The song is melancholic and so I wanted to create visuals that would compliment the dramatic tragic heartbreak depicted.
Yitka is a Czech born and raised folk music artist now residing in Canada. I designed and illustrated and photo edited the artwork for Yitka - Diplomatic Dream, a 2011 independent Canadian album release. Her son photographed her in an abandoned home and I pulled the wall paper from the background and carried it throughout the design theme and colour palette. I also edited her dress which was originally tie dye that competed too much with the composition and patterns surrounding her.
In 2007, Mark Wirtz asked me to design an album cover for Me by Zion De Gallier which he produced during the 1960s when he was an EMI/Abbey Road Studios producer and composer. This psychedelic pop song had never been properly released however Mark expressed an interest to release the single on vinyl 45.
The Double Feature Creatures was a girl band that I formed when I graduated Graphic Design and completed post-grad studies in 3D Animation as well as Interactive Multimedia. Years after the band recorded and broke up, I released this archive of our music in 2005 entitled, ‘Return!’ on Teen Sound Records in Italy. I designed and illustrated the album artwork. You may listen to the album here where it is also available for purchase: thedoublefeaturecreatures.bandcamp.com
In 2002, I designed the album art for this three CD set of classical Indian music from Texas: Sri Ramakrishna Sarada Bhajan Mandali. I was provided the illustrations of the people/gods and from there I incorporated fabrics and kept the colour palettes to match the provided artwork.
A Superman DVD XBOX combo package concept that I designed for Warner Bros using a metal case.
Truestar Health TrueBAR packaging that I designed. I also photographed the protein bars.

As a contracted Senior Interactive Designer at Corus in 2009-2010, it was my task to design the Nickelodeon Canada website. I worked with basic wireframes and the On Air department provided a few station identification shorts for reference. From there I pulled elements together and added my own flare which resulted in a very playful and highly successful website that received a great review at the end of the fiscal year and was live for 7 years.
DUSK was a thriller and suspense television station under the Corus Entertainment umbrella that replaced the horror channel, Scream TV. This was my first project when Corus contracted me in 2009-2010. My role was to design the entire website from wireframes and very little branding to work with. For the first time at Corus, On Air used design elements from the Interactive department which I created for the site. It was a proud moment for the team and the site received a great review at the end of the fiscal. In 2012, DUSK was discontinued so that Corus could make room for ABC Spark.
“Christine enthusiastically took on the design of a new specialty channel website that had a still-vague brand identity and no graphic assets for her to work with. Despite these challenges she did a fantastic job translating the “look and feel” of this undefined brand into a solid and stylish website (www.DUSKtv.ca).” - Karen Wilkinson, Interactive Producer, Corus Entertainment, 2010
Another fun website that I designed while on contract at Corus. This was through Treehouse TV and my task was to design an online party package site where one could choose from a party theme or customize their own and print out the whole party package. I designed how the site would navigate and function and worked with an illustrator who developed the characters within the various party themes.
While at BMO as a Senior Web Designer, I designed the bilingual pages for this Investorline youth web campaign meant to target 25-35 year olds. I created the photo manipulated images and the game layout as well as the overall layout with icon designs. Also shown are the alternate concepts I had created during the development.
I designed the bilingual online presence for the Buenos Aires National Sales Conference for BMO Insurance.
Here are a couple of ecard samples that I created for BMO Insurance and BMO Financial Group.
Here is another example of one of many monthly ‘spike’ pages that I created for the YTV website. Corus wanted an April Fools and Easter combined theme. With provided copy, I designed the theme to blend with the YTV brand.
This was a lovely yoga garment online catalog that I created in Flash back in 2009. Each page swept over a large colourful background that created beautiful fluid continuity from page to page.
A banner design that I created for the Babar website via Treehouse TV which was a new Corus site in 2010. I loved Babar when I was a little girl so it was sweet to create this one. I created the edges based on Babar's chair and chose the imager for the ad.
Experts Search 2010 was a show featured on W Network. While on contract at Corus Entertainment in 2009-2010, my design was pitched along with concepts by the rest of the full-time Interactive team. The stakeholders and executives chose my concept and so I designed the entire site. I only had the show title and photographs of the people shown to work with where I then created a military and girl guide inspired theme throughout. At the end of the fiscal year, this along with DUSK and Nick were three of the four web projects celebrated by the team. It was a proud moment for me, especially being a contractor.
This is an E Newsletter design that I created for Clear Medicine at the time of its inception. I also designed the Clear Medicine logo as well as some business and sales collateral pieces for Dr. Natasha Turner who has since written best selling books and made several appearances on Dr. Oz.
This was one of my early website designs that I created in 2002 for a jazz venue in Toronto which was inspired by 1950s and 60s design. It's one of my favourite styles to play with when clients will let me.
This was the first website that I ever created which launched in 2001. This was one of many Flash based sites that I created and art directed as well. Fiona loved my concept for the site that I pitched and so I got her to create drawings which she did in black ink to accommodate the sections to her site that I coloured in and animated. This was a very successful site which won a couple web awards at the time, as well I was asked to do a Flash In TO presentation, a highly respected speakers series for new media in Toronto. The site led Fiona to becoming the first Canadian artist to do an art residency in Taipei, Taiwan and be part of a group art show in Venice where she exhibited a massive outdoor piece beside Yoko Ono's work which was also featured in the show.

Created for Healing Waves Reiki who wanted the logo to incorporate a hand, a wave and a horse. I created the image for the back of the card as well.
I designed the business card, logo and other print and digital elements for Jen Fleming, RMT. Jen wanted me to incorporate the spine and hands. She loves nature and so I created it as a leaf in how the hands are cupping and nurturing the spine.
I designed the logo, business cards and other print and digital marketing pieces for Clear Medicine, a wellness boutique owned by Dr. Natasha Turner who is often featured on Dr. Oz. She wanted a fresh and clean feeling through simplicity in design.
I designed the logo and business cards for Trans DR, a Chicago based company who approached me to design their logo while incorporating an arrow and the colour green. Presto, they chose this classic design from my concepts!
I designed the logo and these cleaning service cards for the Iovate internal cleaning service.
I designed the logo and business cards as well as signs for Dieroff Osteopathy. The client was very specific in wanting a golden key incorporated into their name along with a serif font. They were very pleased with the results and expressed it exceeded their expectation.
Designed for American guitarist and guitar teacher, Grant Ossendryver. I decided to do this in an Art Deco style which my client loves.
Steel City Pro Wrestling had a similar logo but needed an update. This is the result. I modified the phoenix like bird they were already using and added colour and the adapted a new font treatment and graphic to tie it together. The client wanted something classic and so I drew my inspiration from old steel workers union emblems and superheroes.
Twice is a Canadian Independent film by Digital Canaries that I was asked to create a logo and movie poster for. This was the only concept I created which was approved. There have been a number of times where clients have chosen the first logo concept that I've created from a group of choices presented. I take pride in being a good listener.
Girl Spoken (Filles Fantastique) was a bilingual Ontario outreach program for young teen girls during the 2000s which provided an outlet for them to share social issues they encounter through art and writing. I was asked to design their logo in a way that was bright, positive, playful and youthful. I had also designed their website and parts of a book that they published.
Rock Elite is a new music school for children in New England. I was asked to create something blue and classic that would tie in old and new. I created a few stunning concepts which I may later share and this one was the winner!
This was created for a small start-up company for spray foam. The client wanted something happy and uplifting which would illustrate the foam.
I created this logo for a not-for-profit community arts and theatre organization in Brantford, Ontario.
Pawsapalooza was a fundraiser event to help animal rescues in need. I was asked to create a playful logo along with a poster to promote their event.
This is a Holistic Nutritionist concept that I created for a client who wanted water, lemon and lavender incorporated.
Leak Marker approached me to design their logo, website and some sales collateral. The product is a filter of sorts that helps to prevent plumbing leaks and is incorporated into the design (red circle with tabs). The A in leak has a water drop which pleased the client as well.
King West Village is an integrated health clinic who approached me while started up to design their logo and business collateral. They wanted modern and hip. In their words: “What can we say? Christine Leakey is the ‘Best Kept Secret In Toronto!’ The logo designed by Christine exceeded our expectation regarding branding as well as conveying our mission statement and philosophy via our business cards and brochure. ‘You go girl!’”
Bead Junction was a Toronto bead boutique. I designed this logo for them when the business began in 2003.
Drive Line is an internal magazine for McKinnon Transport Inc, one of Canada's top 50 best managed companies. I designed the look and feel for their magazine as well as its logo as shown.
Eight years ago, I created this logo for RV Hotline, Canada's classified RV trader site.
Designed for Sax on Yonge, a downtown Toronto jazz club during the early 2000's.
Here are some examples of icon designs for various projects that I have created for tools in application software, navigation, images to represent a topic or simply to enhance a layout.

Drive Line is an internal magazine publication that I designed for McKinnon Transport Inc who are one of Canada's top 50 Best Managed Companies. My employer at the time felt this design was too slick to present to a trucking company and I said to trust that a company with such a great reputation would surely want something like this. So he presented the magazine and they loved it. The publication went on to have several issues. I created an industrial theme and collages that were inspired by metals, road signs, highways and road paint.
