From 2013 to 2014, my visual art and illustrative works were available for purchase on my own wall space at Lister Arts in Hamilton’s James North Arts district within Canada's oldest arcade, the Lister Block. Buyers of my art during that time were from the Netherlands, Zimbabwe and Canada.
In 2005 and 2006, I wore many hats for the first ever circumnavigation of the globe by only human power which was achieved by Colin Angus and joined in part by his now wife, Julie. I was their Media Manager during the expedition. I pursued media globally, successfully resulting in several world wide publications in print, web and television (Namely, Discovery Channel and obtained Julie’s first glossy women’s magazine spread in Venus Magazine which led to her first book publishing deal). For their Banff Film Festival Award Winning documentary, Beyond the Horizon, I was their Music Supervisor and I wrote the original score.  I also obtained title sponsorship for them from Truestar Health who provided significant financial support and nutritional supplements. Other tasks for the expedition included:  • Provided ocean weather reports • Coordinated a greeting from media, a photoshoot and Truestar product delivery upon their St. Lucia arrival • Organized a film screening fundraiser in Hamilton with significant silent auction items, catered food, Julie Angus as guest speaker, and presented the expeditioners documentaries • Designed the welcome back ceremonies print collateral and assisted the title sponsor at the ceremonies
In 2002, I was the Production Coordinator and Graphic Designer for Toronto’s First Fringe Jazz Festival which evolved into the Distillery Jazz Festival. My tasks included creating the 100 page website, designing festival ads, the 80 page festival programme and brochures. I also recorded and mixed the Fringe Jazz slogan for radio, conducted administrative work and basic bookkeeping and managed communications with musicians and volunteers.      Other community involvement has included:     T.E.A.D. The Equestrian Association For The Disabled (2008-2010)   I assisted people of all ages and levels of disabilities to ride equestrian and take and groom the horses.    Title Sponsor for the 2004 Hamilton Music Awards Designed the branding for the HMA, HMS and September Seventh Entertainment; Designed all collateral including advertisements, programme, posters and signs; Created motion graphics for the big screen winner announcements at the award ceremonies. Interactive Presenter, FlashinTO (2003) Featured woman in Flash design and development; Gave a Flash presentation focused on which won a web design award and won Fiona an art residency in Taipei, Taiwan.    The Drive To Survive Charity Golf Tournament, Nobleton Lakes Golf & Country Club (1999-2002) I was proud to volunteer my ideas and time. During these four annual events, we successfully raised $136,000 for the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario.   The tournaments were MC'd by Toronto's CITY TV personality, the late Mark Daley and our auctions were MC'd by NHL retiree, Daryl Sittler. We had live music at lunch by Selwyn Gomes and during our cocktail hour. We featured many prizes from a year lease for a BMW convertible, large cash prizes, a sail boat, and various smaller prizes.
